After Fedora 8, not long after there comes Fedora 9. Yes, you read it right. Fedora 9 is nearing its final completion as the developers of Red Hat variant distribution released the Fedora 9 Preview last April 17.

Five days after, the Release Candidate 1 will be available as the developers and community of this popular version of Linux (and my favorite) pushes further to reach the deadline of final release on May 13.

Codenamed Sulphur, Fedora 9 still features different “spins” that were also present in its predecessor Fedora 8 along with updated packages of OpenOffice, GNOME, KDE 4, and Firefox 3. There will also be notable improvement in start-up and shutdown in X environment.
