PinoyTux Site Downtime

Some of you might notice that for the last few hours, the site is blank. Meaning, you can literally build your own blog in my site.

Interesting enough, when I checked the site, I had the WP installation page ready to accept any configuration. So I checked the pages and they are still there (thank goodness!). Then I went to check the database and well, it was blank – no data, no tables, nothing.

So I went to have a little chat with the 3ix.org tech guy and after two hours of frustration, the database was restored to its state from three days ago. So with all that, I lost a few data that are irrecoverable like comments and posts, but at least somehow I got the site back.

Meanwhile, you may notice that the site has a new look. I changed the theme (again) and I think the overall look is cleaner and more organized. The theme is called Simple Red which has an alloted space for 250×250 ads at the top by default. I like it because I don’t have get down and dirty with the codes to get a neat looking ads space.

I have also added a nice little widget called Digsby which I got the idea from visiting AskTheAdmin.com (I love their site, btw). It’s a very cool widget that you can use to embed in your site or social network page.

I have a few more things to fix to get everything work together but for now, I will have to write something because I’m starting to lose RSS subscribers!

Anyway, if you feel the new site look is not working for you in any way, you can let me know by using the Digsby widget or email me at kamotegirl@pinoytux.com.
