Yes, it is true. Someone has made an unconventional method of bungee jumping, with a little help from a sturdy rope made up of 18,500 condoms. Uh-huh, condoms. But before you go and say, “Ewwww…”, let me tell you a little something about the brave man who managed to live to tell the tale after putting his life at the hands of rubbery contraceptives.

Carl Dionisio, an expert bungee jumper, along with his friend decided to recreate his experience with his first jump also known as the “virgin buzz”. I am not exactly sure what this means because I have never bungee jumped in my life. The feat definitely made a statement because Carl used a 98-feet rope which was made up of condoms tied together and while the brand used is still unknown, it definitely proved that condoms are 99% safe.

If you are one of the Safe Sex advocates hoping to hear that the real message behind this jump is to promote the use of condoms, then I am sorry to disappoint you. Apparently, this jump was purely made just for kicks. A real expensive one, not to mention a lot of trips to the pharmacy.

The good news is Carl survived the jump and lived another day. I wonder if all of the condoms are “unused”?
