I received an email from a fellow Filipino also in California, giving warm words of thanks about the Weezer video I posted yesterday. Caroline works for Motion Theory, the production company behind the music video of Weezer called ‘Pork and Beans’.
Under the direction of Mathew Cullen, Pork and Beans is a sensational hit in YouTube with 3 million hits in 3 days. Mathew is also the director of some noted videos like Beck’s ‘Girl’ and Adele’s ‘Chasing Pavements’.
Pork and Beans features some of the YouTube hits (you will recognize them in the video) and was shot at a studio in Los Angeles and on location at North Hollywood. No wonder it is a hit on YouTube. A video about YouTube videos is a surefire hit in YouTube itself! A simple yet ingenious idea.
Personally, I like Weezer’s music because it is a perfect blend of alternative music but not really noisy. And besides, I adore their ‘Buddy Holly’ song so I am already familiar with them. And if you are wondering why the song title is Pork and Beans, it’s in the lyrics
