Japan Earthquake 2011

Japan has been hit by a terrible earthquake with a magnitude of 8.8 today. Many of the roads and farmland has been destroyed by tsunami and as of this writing, there is a confirmed report of 15 casualties.

If you are in Japan and have internet connection, please help by providing information about other people’s location and yours using Google’s Person Finder.

    Yes that was a crazy earthquake. I live in Osaka, very far from the epicenter. And even many hundreds of kilometers away, our building was shaking back and forth gently for about two minutes.
    We were thinking, yeah that was a Magnitude 2 or 3. We get em every few weeks.
    Then turned on the TV and saw the destuction unfold.
    It was like watching the planes hit the twin towers on September 11th.
    Just nuts.

    I have only seen the damage of the tsunami when I saw the CNN news. It was shocking to see the event while looking at the cars and other establishments being swept out by giant waves. And it is sad to see that most people lose their loved ones, homes and other stuffs that is important to them. I hope that the victims would recover their losses and continue moving on from the situation. Thanks for sharing the two videos of the event.
