WordPress 2.5.1 is now available for download which contains performance enhancement, bug fixes and security vulnerability patches.

According to the WordPress Blog, you can choose to either perform a full upgrade or download only the corrected copies of files which includes wp-includes/pluggable.php, wp-admin/includes/media.php, and wp-admin/media.php.

The full upgrade contains over 70 fixes and performance improvements. Some of the fixes are:

  • Performance improvements for the Dashboard, Write Post, and Edit Comments pages.
  • Better performance for those who have many categories
  • Media Uploader fixes
  • An upgrade to TinyMCE 3.0.7
  • Widget Administration fixes
  • Various usability improvements
  • Layout fixes for IE

WordPress has also a link for the Secret Key vulnerability in WordPress 2.5 which gives you a random string for your SECRET_KEY entry in wp-config.php.

Looking at the fixes page, I do not see any fix on how to make the sidebar widgets transferable from one sidebar to another. This is the fix I have been waiting for and yet I don’t see it in their resolution page. Maybe it hasn’t been fixed yet?
